Bio: I have been teaching math for six years now. I taught Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Calculus in high school in the Hart District for two years. I then came to Roosevelt three years ago and taught Intro to Algebra to our 8th graders. This year I am teaching Math Concept to our 7th graders.
I run the math club at Roosevelt and I try and get our student club members to challenge themselves in their current math class, to strive to improve, and to plan on starting in geometry or Algebra 2 as freshman in high school.
I run the tennis club at Roosevelt which currently meets at lunch. I am a nationally ranked tennis coach, have coached 3 teams and 4 individuals to CIF playoffs, and I have coached players who are ranked in the USTA tournament rankings.
I have a BA in Business Management and a MBA from USC in finance and statistics. I worked in the corporate world for 10 years as a telecommunications manager ( AT@T and Transamerica). I then started and ran my own business for 20 years selling 3D animation and digital editing systems, and also building and managing websites.
I believe in hard work and constant improvement leads to sucess in math. I do not care at what level of math a student enters into my class at, but I do care about what level they leave at. Every student can be successful at math if they push themselves and practice. Some will simply require more time to succeed.
