{Mr K} {blue ribbon}

Randy Kamiya
I started teaching in the Los Angeles Unified School District in 1985 at Melvin Avenue Elementary School in Reseda. I was fortunate to work with an outstanding staff and our school was recognized with the Federal Excellence in Education Award. We were the first "Blue Ribbon" elementary school in Los Angeles and one of 14 schools in California to receive the award that year.

I started working for the Glendale Unified School District in 1997 at John Marshall which coincidentally was Glendale's first "Blue Ribbon" elementary school. I subsequently moved to John Muir Elementary and in 2005 joined the staff at Roosevelt.

I am currently one of the advisers for our MESA program along with Mr. Gonzalez. We are also advisers for the Robotics Club. To find out more about MESA and Robotics, click on the links to the left of this page.
